Class Schedule

Defensive Handgun is a full, two-day course giving students the basic minimum information to be able to defend themselves with a handgun.  I use the term minimum, but don't be disappointed by this.  There is much information in this class.  You need to be rested and ready for two full days of information and skill development in using your handgun properly.  You need to have good basic gun handling skills to attend this class.  You must be able to: load and unload your handgun, load magazines without help, draw and reholster your handgun.  You will need to hit a target from 4 to 12 yards away.  There is a qualification at the end of class where all your rounds must be accounted for on the target.  In effect, no misses.

The course covers the following topics:                                             Fee for a scheduled class is:

  • Handgun (auto or revolver)
  • 350 rounds of jacked ammunition
  • 3 magazines or 2 speed loaders
  • Cap with a bill
  • Safety glasses & ear protection

You may substitute a letter from your Chief of Police, Sheriff or local Judge attesting to your good character if you do not have a CCPP.  Your handgun should be no smaller in caliber than .380 Automatic.  This is the minimum caliber size I will allow students to use in learning to defend themselves.  No reloaded ammunition is allowed for class use.  Please use jacketed ammunition or lead free ammo to reduce lead in the air.
